After collecting three-title in the recently concluded Nagen Hazarika Table Tennis Championship, the Guwahati based paddler again bagged triple-crown in the RG Baruah All Assam Ranking Table Tennis Competition which concluded at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan Indoor Stadium here today. This time Gargee won three titles in women, Youth and junior girl’s singles.Shankab Gautam Barua from OIL won double crown in the competition. Two legendary figures in Indian Table Tennis-Kamalesh Mehta and Monalisa Barua Mehta today attended the closing function along with a few former top paddlers of the state.Iavna Talukdar of Guwahati and Saksham Jain from Guwahati adjudged most promising girl’s and boy’s player of the meet.Final results: Cadet Girl’s (singles): Bhumika Kaushik (Guwahati) bt Parnika Chakraborty (Guwahati) 3-0. After several successful projects regarding mass recreational running and promotion of a healthy life, the non-governmental organization “Marathon” from Sarajevo is organizing the fifth race in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) only for girls “Avon Girls Running 2017.” The general sponsor AVON has been supporting actions that empower women for 130 years.The socially responsible project “Girls running” is organized as a promotion of healthy and active lifestyle of our citizens, as well as a method in the battle against discrimination and stereotypes in our society. The organizers wish to use this opportunity to contribute to the building of a more healthy and modern surrounding, while sports manifestations such as this one gather more than 30,000 participants in modern countries. At the same time, the female leaders of the running community in BiH are noting that this race will be a special rehearsal before the Sarajevo Coca-Cola half-marathon.In the beautiful and peaceful Vilson’s Lane on Sunday, September 7th, 2017 at 10 a.m., the race will take place and starts from the hotel Novotel Sarajevo Bristol. On this short and fun race, over 400 runners are expected, while participants can walk or run. It’s especially important to highlight the significance of socially responsible part of this manifestation.In accordance with the goals of the organizers, the race will serve as a platform for humanitarian projects and support for several useful initiatives.
