Family History

first_imgOne of my readers, Terry Giesting, suggested a topic for Coaches’ Corner.  It dealt with family histories in the Batesville High School basketball program.  We will be doing that program for Coaches’ Corner with the Bob Walsman family right before the basketball season. This blog will give you an idea on some of the families that have 3 generations of basketball players who played for some of our local schools.  The Bob Walsman family includes Bob, Sr.; Bob, Jr. (better known as Snork); and Nathan, the grandson of Bob Sr.  and son of Snork.Another family that comes to mind is the Louie Dickman family.  Louie played for Batesville.  His daughter, Melissa, played for JCD, and Melissa’s son, Nick, completed the trilogy with Batesville Bulldogs.I hope this will jog some of your memories.  Contact me if you know of other families who have this kind of history with local basketball programs.last_img read more
