FLT focuses on online profit growth

first_imgSource = e-Travel Blackboard: N.J Aiming to expand customer offerings, Flight Centre managing director Graham Turner reaffirmed the company’s commitment to expanding its online presence while growing its global shop network.As reported by e-Travel Blackboard earlier this month, Flight Centre is focusing its efforts on tapping “into the online space” as a means to offer travellers the choice of booking holidays in-store, online, via phone or email.Speaking at the Flight Centre Annual General Meeting this week, Mr Turner said the company was diversifying customer options while keeping services coupled up.“This genuine multi-channel sales offering is a key point of difference,” Mr Turner said.“Effectively, we can replicate the web-based booking services online travel agencies provide and couple them with the services our global shop network provides.“Our goal this year is to grow this network by eight to ten percent.” He added that the company is also aiming to increase pre-tax profit by ten percent to deliver a result of $270 million.While Mr Turner said the company exceeded expectations with a 25 to 30 percent leap in pre-profit tax for the first quarter and October this year compared to last, he stressed the company was capable of reaching its goals, “excluding any major abnormal items that may arise”.last_img
